Assistant Product Manager

Role Profile:

To assist in establishing a new function and with the potential to grow into a more senior product lead role over time.

 

To support the Head of Marketing & Products to manage the products across their lifecycle – from product strategy, development, launch, marketing to product optimisation.

 

 

Key accountabilities:

You will manage the product development tracker and production calendar to ensure timely delivery of the products

 

In the same vein, you will relay all product-related information to cross-functional teams.

 

Also, you will collect and analyse both internal and external sales data for strategic decision-making.

 

You will be working within the product management framework; you’ll be assisting the Head of Marketing & Products in managing the Bank’s products in order to achieve the commercial goals set out by the business.

 

You will be aware of key competitor information and use these insights to inform the product development roadmap.

 

You will assess market appetite and opportunity for new product enhancements and work in partnership with the delivery team to drive changes through to fruition.

 

Assisting in setting, monitoring, and managing the pricing and operational policy for products and services.

 

Producing financial and other KPI reporting including sales pipelines and product performance

 

Assisting in strategic planning for the products including development of the product roadmaps and assisting in the oversight of end-to-end change management process.

 

Managing key supplier relationships.

 

Ensuring all activities are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies

 

Involved in the innovation process to help take new concepts through to market ready solutions

 

Gather needs from customers and colleagues to underpin feature/product enhancements

 

Engage with customers directly: understanding user-need, testing new features and ideas

 

Creating justification for new product concepts

 

Liaise with the commercial team to help with pricing and go to market strategy

 

Maintain project tracking spreadsheets and business line marketing calendars

 

 

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • 3 years + Product development or product management experience (preferably within a bank or a financial services organisation).
  • Knowledge of financial services industry (preferably Mortgages/Commercial Lending).
  • Experience in market research and market communications
  • Experience in delivering change
  • Experience in stakeholder management across all organisational levels
  • Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling narratives
  • Good planning and time management
  • Ability to multitask, plan and prioritise workload / attention to detail
  • A passion for building exceptional products that delight customers and drive business value

 

Desirable Qualification, Training & Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office products o Ability to interpret market trends and information and form opinions/strategies
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability to achieve set targets
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to solve problems to deliver desired outcomes in a fluid environment
